Cedar Valley Jags Read to Great Oaks!

On Feb. 26th, students from Ms. Collins US History class walked to Great Oaks ES and read to Ms. Bertul's and Ms. Ching's 1st Grade classes.  They read the book, "Wind Flyers" by Angela Johnson which tells the story of the brave Tuskegee Airmen in World War II.  The books talks about following your dreams and being brave!  All the Great Oaks geckos were amazing and our Jaguars had fun too!

6th Grade Choir

We had 2 choirs compete this weekend at our 6th Grade Choir Festival and both groups earned Sweepstakes! This means that they received a Superior rating (the highest score) both in their concert and in sight reading from all judges. I am extremely proud of these wonderful students. Please congratulate them on their achievement!

MathCounts

Please congratulate the mathcounts team in there 4th place finish this weekend. The team competed against all Middle School age children in the Travis/Williamson county area. They will be moving on to state competition March 28th. A special congratulations should go out to Jessica Ding, Jenny Zhang, Andrew Yin and Maxwell Xu who were our top four competitors.

Please congratulate Jill Gregory (8th grade science teacher) and Susan Andrade (hall monitor) for being voted in by their peers as the Teacher and Para Professional of the Year for Cedar Valley Middle School. If you know these ladies at all, then you know that they are magnificent people who exemplify everything that Cedar Valley stands for.

They have the perfect attitude (day in and day out) and they love what they do. They have a heart for kids and they are servants of others. They are a pleasure to work with and I am honored to have Jill and Susan represent Cedar Valley. Thank you Jill and Susan for your smile, attitude, dedication, and your friendship. Congratulations!

Cedar Valley Middle School Honors Band has been selected to perform during Arts Education Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, March 4th. Career Fair

Parents,
Have you ever wondered how you can become more involved at Cedar Valley? Here is the perfect chance. Every year Cedar Valley hosts a career fair for the 8th graders. Consider volunteering an hour and a half of your time to show off what you do to our students. You do not have to give a speech, but rather just set up a display and answer questions as the students visit your table. Celia Eickbusch is the counselor in charge of the career fair and will be happy to answer any questions you have. This is a wonderful event for the students, but it takes volunteers to make it happen. See below for the official invitation!

Cedar Valley Middle School in Round Rock ISD will be hosting our annual Career Fair on May 6, 2015. We are hoping that you might consider participating in our Career Fair as a Career Representative. Students will have time to move through the fair between 12:20 and 1:00. Career Representatives will each have a table to set up a display and answer student questions as students come to your table. Career Representatives may set up anytime in the morning prior to 12:00. We are excited to offer this wonderful opportunity to our eighth grade students and look forward to working with all our representatives!

We would love to have you participate to showcase your field of expertise to our eighth grade students.

Please click on the link below and fill out the information requested if you would like to participate:
