Food Service new Point of Sale System ANNOUNCEMENT

This week a detailed letter will be going out announcing that our school cafeteria will be getting a new Point of Sale system. All schools will be transitioned to this advanced level of service by Monday April 27.

There will be no disruption to service and students will continue to use their current IDs or PIN to purchase their meals and food items. The change in POS system will also mean a change in the online payment service system. PayPams will be replaced with MySchoolBucks. MySchoolBucks will launch in coordination with the new POS system.

All balances will be seamlessly transferred from the previous system to the new system. For any questions please contact Dianne Foletto at dianne_foletto@roundrockisd.org.

Spring 2015

No Place for Hate

The CeVMS No Place for Hate Coalition has created a Calendar of Observances.

The Anti-Defamation league states: The increasingly pluralistic population of the United States creates diverse communities, student bodies and employees. To enhance mutual understanding and respect among the various religious, ethnic and cultural groups, the Anti-Defamation League offers a Calendar of Observances as a tool to increase awareness and sensitivity about religious obligations as well as ethnic and cultural festivities that may affect students, colleagues and neighbors.

The new calendar is hanging in the attendance hallway so stop by and take a look! Use the QR code on the calendar or this website link http://padlet.com/CedarValleyNPFH/hdsxyzdrl1kd to help us celebrate this new addition to our school.

Cedar Valley Jags Read to Great Oaks!

On Feb. 26th, students from Ms. Collins US History class walked to Great Oaks ES and read to Ms. Bertul's and Ms. Ching's 1st Grade classes.  They read the book, "Wind Flyers" by Angela Johnson which tells the story of the brave Tuskegee Airmen in World War II.  The books talks about following your dreams and being brave!  All the Great Oaks geckos were amazing and our Jaguars had fun too!

Career Fair

Parents,
Have you ever wondered how you can become more involved at Cedar Valley? Here is the perfect chance. Every year Cedar Valley hosts a career fair for the 8th graders. Consider volunteering an hour and a half of your time to show off what you do to our students. You do not have to give a speech, but rather just set up a display and answer questions as the students visit your table. Celia Eickbusch is the counselor in charge of the career fair and will be happy to answer any questions you have. This is a wonderful event for the students, but it takes volunteers to make it happen. See below for the official invitation!

Cedar Valley Middle School in Round Rock ISD will be hosting our annual Career Fair on May 6, 2015. We are hoping that you might consider participating in our Career Fair as a Career Representative. Students will have time to move through the fair between 12:20 and 1:00. Career Representatives will each have a table to set up a display and answer student questions as students come to your table. Career Representatives may set up anytime in the morning prior to 12:00. We are excited to offer this wonderful opportunity to our eighth grade students and look forward to working with all our representatives!

We would love to have you participate to showcase your field of expertise to our eighth grade students.

Please click on the link below and fill out the information requested if you would like to participate:
